Welcome to the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Independent Living Management (RRTC-ILM); a national research and training project funded by the US Department of Education, the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research and the Rehabilitation Services Administration.
The RRTC-ILM is a consumer directed, consumer coordinated program utilizing a national network of collaborators and experts to assist independent living centers (ILCs) in becoming fully integrated in their communities through the identification and application of management practices from inside and outside the ILC network.
The RRTC-ILM s primary customers are all ILCs that meet the federal standards and assurances for independent living organizations listed in Section 725 of Title VII of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Service, education, and community programs will benefit and be strengthened by the research outcomes.
Our mission is to provide the information and training needed for each ILC to achieve their social and business missions. Achieving both is key to the long-term success of the IL philosophy and the community integration of all persons with disabilities. Through the RRTC-ILM's programs, ILCs will become more entrepreneurial in their social mission by providing quality employment, education and advocacy programs for persons with disabilities
This web site contains information, publications, training materials and products, searchable and downloadable resources and links to resources. We hope you enjoy what we have to offer and look forward to your suggestions on how we can improve our mission.
