The RRTC-ILM produces a variety of products and materials for independent living. Information dissemination is a critical function of our mission.
PROGRAMS and COURSES
The RRTC-ILM identifies, develops and offers training programs and courses for independent living centers, managers and staff. Our programs are designed to maximize affordability, accessibility and participation and are provided in a variety of formats and venues. Although programs are scheduled at selected times and locations, a center or state association may request programs customized and scheduled to meet their specific training needs.
CURRICULUM REVIEW
The content and instructional materials for programs are reviewed for relevance and value to independent living by our Curriculum Review Committee and Steering Council members, comprised of independent living center directors. Their feedback is incorporated into improving program content and design. Prior to adding a program to the list of RRTC-ILM offerings, programs are pilot tested and feedback and suggestions are incorporated for improvement.
TRAINING COSTS
If an I L budget includes dollars for training, it is usually one of the first things to be cut when there is a budget crunch. Even though the need for training may be critical, funding for training is often a luxury. Knowing this, the RRTC-ILM seeks to minimize your cost for training while maximizing quality and value. We can work together to find ways and means to meet your training and development needs.
