Conference Planning and Implementation
Event planning for people with disabilities requires unique considerations. Our staff of experienced conference and event planners are available to assist you with site requirements, transportation and accommodation considerations, workshop planning and meal arrangements.

Retreat Planning and Implementation
If you are scheduling a retreat to build teamwork and educate staff or board members, contact the CIL Management Center (CILMC). CILMC staff are experienced in planning and conducting retreat activities to meet the needs of independent living centers.

Training Development Consultation
Does your center's staff or board members need training? Is there a specific topic or skill that you want presented in an in-service program? Facilitated Problem Solving (individual and small group)
Problem solving in groups is most effective when a trained facilitator guides and maintains the flow of the process. The CIL Management Center staff has twenty years of experience in facilitating group problem solving and applying a variety of problem solving techniques and methods. Problem solving consultation is available for small groups and with individual clients.

Vision / Mission Development
Your organizational Vision and Mission are an important part of your center's operation and image. Establishing a dynamic and inspiring vision communicates who you are, who you serve and what you strive to be. Your mission identifies actions to achieve the vision. CIL Management Center staff will guide you and your board through a Vision / Mission Development session to generate a view to the future.

Center Operation Recource Assessment
Review your CILs operational status and readiness using the Management Practices Checklist. The result of four years of management research with CILs, the checklist is an inventory of over 150 management practices commonly used at independent living centers. Working with the executive director, a trained CIL Management Center staff facilitates the administration and analysis of the checklist.

Organizational SnapShot for CIL Strategic Planning©
Use this guide to develop an operations manual for your CIL. The Organizational SnapShot takes your through nine categories of CIL management operations and provides a framework for future organizational development. Upon completion, the SnapShot is a historical reference and a "benchmark" for measuring growth and progress. CIL Management Center staff are experienced in administering and facilitating the completion of the SnapShot for CILs.

Organizational SnapShot for SILC Strategic Planning©
Similar to the SnapShot for CILs, the SILC version is customized for use by Statewide Independent Living Councils to develop a five year strategic plan. Applying the SnapShot to your SILC will result in a framework which incorporates the development of the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) with the transition and growth of the Council.

CIL Organizational Development Guide©
A complete process from establishing an organizational vision to implementing the strategic plan. The CIL Organizational Development Guide© combines the SnapShot, the Management Practices Checklist and the Vision / Mission Development into one continuous consultation. It includes identifying, evaluating and prioritizing goals and scheduling them into a strategic plan. Goal outcomes are identified and quantified to measure the success of implementation.
